Monviso was established
in 1936 in Turin, developing products at artisan level, with
the addition of gluten adapted especially for the diet of children
and diabetics.
At the end of the 1950s, the company studied a range of products
specifically for high-protein diets (for diabetics) and low-salt
diets (for people affected by high blood pressure), sold in chemists
and specialist stores.
In 1972 Monviso switched from an artisan production system to an industrial-type organisation, presenting its products on the market for uses not restricted exclusively to special dietary and functional needs.
In the mid-80s, the Company continued to expand its horizons
to non-dietetic foods. The success of the famous Biscotto Salute
proves the validity of this choice: with a growth trend which
has never shown even the slightest decline, Monviso has achieved
a leading position in this case too. The 1990s marked the birth
of the Panmonviso range, which now flanks the
Biscotto Salute, the Low-salt Range (0.02% sodium) and Fibra
Activa (based upon a concept of soluble and insoluble fibre,
the common denominator of which is psyllium) and specialities
such as Gioppini and Croutons.
Panmonviso is a brand which aims to offer consumers
a univocal image of manufacturers specialised in bread substitutes,
combining the pleasures of taste with the desire to observe a
controlled diet.
The Monviso philosophy influences the various products on the basis of the scientific rigour and high quality standards applied for decades to the manufacture of diet products; by virtue of this, Monviso has always been able to boast possession of the authorisation of the Ministry of Health for its products.
The Company currently has three plants situated in Piedmont and Lombardy: Andezeno, dedicated to the production of the Biscotto Salute, low-salt breadsticks and rusks and the rusks of the Fibra Activa range; Buttigliera díAsti, specialised in the production of Low-salt Tea Biscuits Sweetened with Fructose and Wholegrain Biscuits with Prunes and Psyllium; Gambolò, near Pavia, for the production of Gioppini and Croutons.
As confirmation of its high production quality standards, Monviso
has obtained UNI EN ISO 9001:2000, BRC and IFS certification.
It also has a state-of-the-art in-house analysis laboratory at
the Andezeno plant.

to preparing mixtures, right through to new, refined cooking and packing technologies,
Monviso has succeeded in equipping itself with valid and innovative
machinery which enables the unification of traditional know-how with tomorrow’s
technology.
Control
To combine productivity and hygiene, Monviso has its own structure
