Salute with toasted cereal flakes |

Year after year, the behaviour
and dietary habits of Italians are focusing more and more on
the need to eat a healthy, balanced diet. Today it is felt
that the nourishment gained from cereals must form the main
part of a correct, healthy diet, accounting for as much as
60% of the total. On the basis of these orientations, Monviso
proposes the Panmonviso Biscotto Salute, a must on Italian
tables, in a new version enhanced with toasted cereal flakes.
The Biscotto Salute with Cereal Flakes, rich in cereals (12%) and
fibre (6%), originates from the tradition of Italian bread and
biscuit making, alongside products characterised by the biscuit
baking technique (the Italian word for biscuit being “biscotto”,
which literally means “cooked twice”).
A rusk richer in fibre, germ, mineral salts and protein, health-giving properties
contained in the whole grain that are usually lost in the refinement of white
flours.
The crispiness and taste of this rusk are the result of meticulous baking and
browning of the cereal flakes, rich in carbohydrates and an irreplaceable source
of slowly-assimilated energy.
The three cereals contained in the Biscotto
Salute are:
|
 |
Spelt,
low in calories and rich in protein.
Oats, easy to digest and rich in high quality protein.
Barley, which contains lots of vitamins and enhances
the rusk with its unmistakable flavour.

The Biscotto Salute is
a typical, traditional product of Piedmont, with origins
dating back to the early 20th century.
The use of the term “salute”, which is the
Italian for “health”, does not mean that
the product has particular beneficial characteristics. |
